Drummond brings over 31 years of experience in federal, state, and local government auditing — and, throughout his career, experience training auditors and financial managers. He joined the profession in the U.S. Government Accountability Office in 1990, and served as a member (2009-2016) and Chair (2016-2020) of the Comptroller General’s Advisory Council on Government Auditing Standards. He has trained auditors throughout North America and overseas, served as national president of the Association of Local Government Auditors, and received the Frank Greathouse Distinguished Leadership Award from the Association of Government Accountants and was named one of the Top 15 Most Influential Professionals in Government Auditing by the Institute of Internal Auditors’ American Center for Government Auditing.
He holds a master’s degree from the University of Oregon and a bachelor’s degree from Whitman College, and completed professional training at the U.S. GAO Training Institute and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Drummond is a Certified Internal Auditor, and a Certified Government Financial Manager. He serves on the faculty in the Master of Accounting program at the University of Oregon and trains professionals through the Graduate School USA’s International Institute and Government Audit Training Institute.
